A Star in the Making??

Today, pitcher Kyle Gibson, one of the Twins’ top prospects and the team’s first-round draft pick in 2009, made his highly anticipated major league debut and beat the Kansas City Royals 6-2. Gibson pitched well, giving up 2 earned runs in 6 innings while striking out 5.

While one major league game is way too early to assess a pitcher, I am excited about Gibson. I think he could become a very successful pitcher in the major leagues. Hopefully, he will be with the Twins for many years and be part of several winning teams–maybe even a world championship team!

What is your opinion of Gibson??

  1. Sam,
How long a contract does he have with the Twins?

  2. Uncle Andy,

I’m not sure how long his contract is. I’ll try to find it.

  3. Hi – as Rick Anderson does not have a great record developing young pitchers here, I wonder if the Twins will take a different approach with Gibson than they did with Diamond, Duensing, et al.
