After a 10-month season, the power soccer season ended last weekend. The United States Power Soccer Association (USPSA) concluded all four tournaments during the past month. Power soccer continues to grow though out America among power chair users. Three teams from Minnesota competed in the four tournaments. Here are the results:
The Premier Cup was held in Georgia June 16-18. In the championship game, Circle City, out of Indiana, defeated Atlanta 4-3. Third place went to Tampa as they defeated San Jose 2-1.
The Champions Cup was held in Minnesota June 23-25. In the championship game, Courage, out of Minnesota, defeated Santa Barbara, CA, 3-1. Third place went to CNY, out of New York, as they defeated DASA, from Missouri, 2-0. Courage finished in eighth place.
The Presidents Cup was held in Georgia June 24-25. In the championship game, GLASA Chicago beat North Georgia 2-0. RHI Indy, out of Indiana, defeated BORP California, 3-1 to finish third.
The last tournament, Founders Cup, was held in Indiana July 7-8. Turnstone, from Indiana, beat Courage, out of Minnesota, 6-0 to clinch the championship. In the third place game, Henry County, out of Indiana, defeated RHI Indiana, 3-2 in a shoot-out.
Congratulations to all the teams that participated in all four tournaments, and especially to the Courage Center teams that won first and second place in their respective cups.
