Since July 14, people have been voting for the best idea of 15 Major League Baseball teams for a $200,000 grant from Pepsi. The Pepsi Refresh Project gives away millions each month to fund refreshing ideas that change the world. Voting ended on August 17 at 10:59pm. And…drumroll, please…The Twins have won the grant by over 60,000 votes! About 2 million votes were for the Twins’ idea.
With the grant, Courage Center will be able to build a wheelchair softball field for their two Rolling Twins teams. The Rolling Twins have been playing on a parking lot in Brooklyn Center and needed a field desperately. Courage Center wants to build the field near Parade Stadium. I think this spot is a great location (hopefully Downtown will be beyond the outfield).
This field will give a huge boost to Courage Center’s softball program. I think more people will want to play wheelchair softball once there is a new field in a prime spot in Minneapolis.
Thank you all for voting and helping Courage Center get a softball field where they can call “home”! We will bring you more information when it comes available.
