On Thursday, May 6, I went to Target Field to see the Minnesota Twins play the Baltimore Orioles. It was the first night game I went to there (the game started at 7:00). Besides the Twins losing 2-0, it was a little cold and there was a steady rainfall throughout the game. This was also the first game I have been to at Target Field where it has been raining. It wasn’t perfect, but I still was pretty comfortable because we brought a big umbrella and I was sitting only partially outside (section 217), since our seats are above an overhang. I also had a blanket over my wheelchair to protect it from the rain. For fans sitting entirely outside, though, the game must not have been very pleasant. I was surprised that they played in the rain and didn’t call the game off, because a lot of the fans were getting soaked and the field was getting wet and slippery.
Even though it rained for almost the entire game and the Twins lost, I enjoyed being at the game because the buildings in downtown Minneapolis are so pretty at night. Target Field is a beautiful place to watch a baseball game, especially at night.
