Well, this Twins season is quickly wrapping up with no post-season berth, another dismal season, and 3 Twins players traded away. During the last month, the Twins said good-bye to catcher Drew Butera, infielder Jamey Carroll, and first baseman Justin Morneau. Just when the Twins have some momentum this year, they lose it. But, don’t worry, I sense something special coming.
September call-ups is like competition for starting roles for next year. Since the Rochester Red Wings are competing in the Triple-A post-season, that has hindered the Twins call-up plans. With that said, the Twins had no choice to call up catcher Josmil Pinto due to Mauer’s concussion and they added outfielder Alex Presley. Since Pinto and Presley landed in the Twins starting line-up, they have been playing really well. Pinto has played in 4 games and has 9 hits with 2 doubles and a home run. As for Presley, he has played in 5 games for the Twins racking up 8 hits and a home run in 23 at-bats. I am excited to watch them in the stretch run, and I hope more newbies appear before season’s end.
Today, I will predict the 2014 Twins starting line-up and bench players.
|J. Willingham/J. Morneau|
As you can see, I am predicting a new, revamped Twins line-up for next year with young talent. The time is now to see what Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano can do in the Major Leagues. Plus, the Twins should go after Morneau in free agency this off-season and he should be a designated hitter.
